SUMMARY

A private household located in the Point Grey neighbourhood of Vancouver is seeking an experienced, creative, and highly organized Private Chef to oversee all aspects of the family's (2 adults) culinary program.

This is a long-term opportunity for a culinary professional who is passionate about preparing refined, healthy, and personalized meals while maintaining the highest standards of discretion and professionalism. The successful candidate will prepare daily meals for the family, manage kitchen operations, and accompany the family on international travel for approximately 2 to 3 months per year (not necessary consecutive months).

The ideal candidate has previous experience working within a private household, luxury hospitality, yacht, or executive environment and enjoys providing highly personalized service.

Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications, plus travel-related expenses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Culinary Services
  • Prepare daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to the family's preferences and schedule.
  • Develop seasonal, nutritious, and diverse menus while accommodating dietary preferences, allergies, and special requests.
  • Prepare meals for family gatherings, informal entertaining, and occasional private events.
  • Bake and prepare fresh snacks, desserts, and healthy meal options when requested.
  • Present dishes to an exceptional standard while maintaining consistency and attention to detail.
Kitchen Management
  • Plan weekly menus in consultation with the family.
  • Purchase groceries and specialty ingredients while maintaining an efficient food budget.
  • Source premium local, organic, and seasonal products whenever possible.
  • Maintain inventory of food, beverages, pantry items, and kitchen supplies.
  • Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and inventory management.
  • Keep the kitchen impeccably clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance of kitchen equipment and arrange servicing when required.
Household Collaboration
  • Work closely with the household staff to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Coordinate meal schedules with the family's calendar and travel itinerary.
  • Maintain complete discretion regarding the family's private affairs.
  • Adapt menus and meal schedules according to changing household priorities.
Travel Responsibilities
  • Travel abroad with the family approximately 2 to 3 months annually.
  • Plan menus and source quality ingredients while travelling.
  • Prepare meals in private residences, vacation homes, or temporary accommodation.
  • Maintain the same level of culinary excellence regardless of location.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience as a Private Chef, Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or in luxury hospitality, yachting, or fine dining.
  • Previous experience working in a private residence is considered a strong asset.
  • Formal culinary education or recognized culinary certification.
  • Strong knowledge of international cuisine, healthy cooking, nutrition, and dietary accommodation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate the family's needs.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally.
  • Valid driver's licence is considered an asset.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Three (3) weeks' paid vacation.
  • Comprehensive benefit plan.
